Grooves In The Rock

The grooves in this rock represent some history of Monrovia Canyon Park. When the check dams were being built and an access road needed to be created, some of the large rocks in the way needed to be blasted into smaller, more manageable sizes. The grooves are where the holes were drilled into the rock for placement of the explosive device. Then, Boom!

Please don't try this now.

Keith I was in the canyon Tuesday evening and an event seemed to be taking place. I wasn't sure what it was about and I was to chicken to enter uninvited. Do you know what was going on and where you there?

You should have come in! I understand though, it could have been a group renting the cabin for the night.

Anyway, it was the monthly volunteer meeting (3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm) and everyone's welcome. That night it was about rattlesnake bites and what to do if someone is bitten. And I was there.

Pas Adj: That's a good size snake. We came across a rattlesnake on Monday on an upslope along the trail. Face to face is not the best way to find a rattlesnake.
