California Newt - Underwater





This little newt is kind of hard to see, but he's on the flat rock right in the center of the photo.  Click on the photo to enlarge it for a better view.  Since the newt splits its time living both in and out of the water, this goes nicely with my previous photo of a newt out of the water.

There were two at first. I watched the other crawl off the rock and disappear before I could get my camera ready. Because I was watching the other, I saw this one move and got a second chance.
