Monrovia Canyon Park New Entrance Trail Dedication Ceremony
The dedication ceremony for the new Monrovia Canyon Park Entrance Trail was held late this afternoon in the lower parking lot by the Ranger Station.
The new trail runs from the entry gate up to the kiosk across from the Ranger Station and provides a nice level surface to walk into the park and avoid walking in the street.
Lots of dignitaries in attendance as you'll see in the following photos:
A good crowd in attendance for some short speeches and proclamations before the ribbon cutting.
I want to point out 3 representatives from the CCC (California Conservation Corps) at the far left in the photo. They've been an invaluable help and involved in many projects in the park.
Also some Canyon Park volunteers in the right, rear seats.
Congresswoman Judy Chu.
Assemblymember Chris Holden.
Proclamation from the L.A. County Board of Supervisors.
A little hard to see, but these are before, during, and after photos of the new entrance trail.
The new Canyon Park Entrance Trail sign. At the time of the dedication, it had not yet been permanently installed.
