Old Town Gateway At Night With Holiday Lights

Recovery from the windstorm is moving right along.  Power is not completely back on around town but it's close.  They continue to work on it.  The major street obstructions have been cleared.  The last time I was out, most of the traffic lights were working again.  City offices are open again today.  The Holiday parade will go on this Wednesday, December 7th at 7pm.

Individuals hit hard by the windstorm will take longer to recover.  Find a friend and take them to lunch today.

I've GOT to come by and see the holiday lights and other sites in Monrovia this holiday season.
So lovely as usual.
We had our parade last Saturday and I didn't get a chance to take any photos (again!). Whenever I see a Chrismass parade, I always think of your parade photos which are wonderful.
The 1st Christmas parade I saw in the US was in 1970...from the tiny balcony on Ave. 55 in Highland Park. I heard the marching band music on a Saturday morning! Few years later, I marched in the parade with the Franklin High band.

Tash: It will seem strange without the big Christmas tree downtown this year. It's going to be cold at the parade this year, it's tough to use a camera with freezing hands or gloves.
