The date of the feast is occasionally moved by church authorities when March 17 falls during Holy Week; this happened in 1940 when Saint Patrick's Day was observed on 3 April in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and is happening again now in 2008, as it is being held today, March 15.

Really? We all celebrated it on the 17th. Oops.
I heard that similar Holy Week rules applied to St. Joseph's Day, too.
I was definitely in the minority by posting this on the 15th. I added the explanation later just so people didn't think I'd completely lost my mind.
