Jacaranda


Looking towards the upper parking lot of Monrovia Canyon Park.  With an explosion of color, there's no mistaking the Jacaranda tree, even from far away.

AltadenaHiker: The most likely explanation is this: back in the early days of the park, residents brought their favorite plants and trees to add to the park. This was before the concern for native plants and the impact on the environment. I guess someone liked the Jacaranda tree.
I have three of them. They actually seed easily. Bet it made it's way via bird poop
