Cooked
Against my better judgement, I took part in a little trail work in Monrovia Canyon Park yesterday. This was taken from the upper part of the Ben Overturff trail looking back over the various cities below baking in 110+ degree heat. You can barely make out Catalina Island right about mid-photo.

Sunday Road Trip - Los Angeles County Fair
Welcome to the fair! And not just any fair, the L.A. County Fair is the largest fair in the U.S.
The fair runs from September 4th to October 3rd, 2010 and is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
One more thing. Why don't they have recycle bins for all those plastic water bottles they sell? Shame, shame, shame.

'32 Ford At The Library Park Drinking Fountain
From the 2010 Hot Rod and Custom Car Show. Continuing the series of cars from the show combined with a local Monrovia landmark.
If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you may be able to see the word "FARMERS" on the top stone of the fountain. According to the book "Monrovia Centennial Review" by Peter Ostrye, the fountain was erected in 1905 by the Farmers Club.

1956 Bel Air And The Monrovia Bakery
From the 2010 Monrovia Hot Rod and Custom Car Show.
I've been photographing this annual show for 4 years now and the one thing I didn't want to do this year was to keep repeating what I had done before. So, this year I had a plan. Each of the photos I'll be posting from the show will feature a combination of one (or more) of the cars along with a local landmark from downtown Monrovia. You'll get to enjoy some of the amazing cars and trucks from the show and each photo will also be uniquely Monrovia. I hope you enjoy them.

What Are You Looking At?
It's Labor Day weekend and I've been laboring like crazy lately which doesn't leave much time for taking new photos. So, in the spirit of the weekend, I'm going to take it easy and revisit my friend here. This photo was taken in 2005 at Monrovia Canyon Park and this bobcat was the subject of my first ever post here at Gem City Images.

Here's one that's similar (but different) to some reflection photos at the train depot I posted earlier in the year.
