Two boxes this time.  Getting away from the nature scenes, these are chess pieces located adjacent to the chess game tables in front of the library.

Derail At The Depot

This shot is very similar to the one I posted last Friday.  The main difference is this one has the sign that caught my eye and got me to stop and take some photos.  There is a reason for a sign like this but it seemed like an unexpected word to find next to the tracks.

Movie Night At Monrovia Library Park

UPDATE:  The August 21st movie has been changed to "Back To The Future".

The free showing of "Night At The Museum" last night at Library Park.  The next free movie in the park will be August 21st with "Grease".  Bring a lawn chair and sing along.  The movie starts as soon as it gets dark.

East To The Depot

This is looking east from Magnolia Ave. over a recently cleared field towards the Monrovia train depot / future Gold Line Station.  Just to the right of the depot are some multicolored Googie style features of the Nu-Way car wash.  The railroad tracks come in from the right and go between the depot and the car wash.

*On a side note:  I've made myself fairly scarce for the last few weeks.  That is because I've been spending a great deal of time helping my feline friend and family member fight her health battles.  Unfortunately, it has become clear that her time left is limited.

For a temporary and short time, this site will go from a daily photo to an intermittent photo site.  I want to spend time with her and remove the pressure of the daily posting.  Thanks...

I like photographing fireworks and I don't get to do it too often (once a year) so I'm going to use this weekend to post a couple more photos from the 4th of July. Hope that's okay.

2010 City Sounds Summer Concert Series

The summer concert series in Library Park is starting this Sunday at 7:00 pm and will continue every Sunday through August 8th.  This Sunday (July 11th) features Mariachi music from Mariachi Zacatecas.
