Abundance Of Butterflies

Took a hike up the Sawpit Road above Monrovia Canyon Park to White Saddle this morning.  Didn't see any critters larger than a squirrel, but there were three spots along the road with dozens of butterflies in a small area.  They would fly up as I carefully walked by, then settle back down on the ground.
