Samson The Hot Tub Bear Monument Breaks Apart

Sad news.  The head has fallen off the monument to Monrovia's famous Samson the Hot Tub Bear.

The statue, located in front of the nature center in Monrovia Canyon Park, has been pretty much eaten away on the inside over the years.  Volunteers are planning an attempt at repair but based on the condition, any fix will probably be a temporary one.

There was even a book written about Samson by one time local TV news anchor Wendy Tokuda - Samson the Hot Tub Bear: A True Story.
