Monrovia Train Depot - Raised View
The reason for taking this photo was to experiment with getting a shot from a higher than normal viewpoint. That also allowed me to eliminate most of the perimeter chain link fence from the photo. That part worked out okay, but shooting into the sun was a mistake. So, just for fun, I applied a little bit of an oil painting filter and then converted to black and white.

2010 Mother's Day Home Tour
The tour is tomorrow, May 9th from 10 am - 4 pm. The tour includes 4 homes on Highland Place plus Mills View on Melrose Avenue. All the info is available on the Monrovia Historic Preservation Group website.
Tickets will be available at 173 Highland Place on the day of the tour (tomorrow).

Knots In A Tree Stump
Looking straight down into a decayed tree stump. Those things that look like spikes are the knots. They've lasted longer than the wood around them and have been revealed pointing to the center of the stump.
